Atlantic Coast Mortgage is seeking a Construction Lending Underwriter **to join our growing construction lending team. This role plays a key part in supporting the review, analysis, and processing of bridge and construction loan transactions. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in residential mortgage underwriting, strong communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and prior firsthand experience with construction lending products.
This is an excellent opportunity for an underwriting professional looking to expand their expertise while working closely with loan officers, builders, and internal teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Function as the subject matter expert for ACM’s bridge and construction loan products, including answering scenario questions and providing guidance on loan structure and guideline requirements
- Review loan applications to ensure they are structured to meet applicable guidelines and submit exception requests to Executive Management for loans that fall outside of established requirements
- Research and respond to guideline inquiries, providing accurate and timely underwriting support
- Review and analyze complex income documentation, including personal and business tax returns, and perform calculations for qualifying income
- Communicate with loan officers throughout the review process regarding outstanding needs, loan eligibility, structuring, and guideline interpretation
