About the role
*This role is supported by grant funding that is currently approved for a one-year period.
This Deputy Chief of Party serves as the key leader for the multi-national level implementation of a very-large institutional grant-funded program or project, which may be implemented solely by Compassion or as part of a consortium of NGOs. This DCOP will lead a large country management team in contextualizing the program model, delivering results aligned with award/grant agreement, and ensuring effective coordination with local partners, a national Steering Committee, the local transition partner, the Institutional Grants Team, and the donor or prime awardee. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills to drive country-level success through subordinate managers and professionals and support a progressive transition or closeout of project operations within a specified timeline. This incumbent will also be accountable to ensure that the program or project aligns to any and all applicable audit requirements from a significant institutional donor as outlined by governing organizations involved as well as meets the strategic objectives of the organization's programmatic model in the impacted countries.
This responsibility includes hiring, terminations, coaching, consultation, and performance management, to achieve strategies and objectives. The incumbent collaborates with other senior leaders and contributes to the development of functional strategy and makes decisions based on operational strategy and priorities.

- Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understands Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abides by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur.
